The three-story wooden pagoda-style chariot bears the original deity of Bhairavnath within and the demonic deity in front of it, signaling the start of this year’s voyage.Pulling the chariot is the major attraction of the parade. The first day’s voyage is therefore accomplished by first pulling towards Thane (Upper Part), then carrying it towards Dattatraya, and then dragging it from there to Taumadhi Square, then back to Tekhapukhu towards Kwane(Lower Part), and finally returning to Gahiti. Only Bulubulu Hiti in the east and Nasamana in the west have been approached so far this year.
Biska Jatra is celebrated for eight nights and nine days with great fanfare.
Bhairavnath is worshipped before pulling the chariot, and pilgrims draw the chariot with ropes linked to the front and transport it to their respective tole. The chariot pulling, which is also done in a competitive fashion among the toles or settlement blocks, is the major attraction of the procession.
The word Bisik is stated in the 500 Tamsuk Manuscript of Nepal received in Thimi as a synonym for reminding the world of Ketu, which is relevant to the historical aspect of the Biska Jatra. When Yaksha Malla addresses the Jatra for the first time, it is referred to as World Jatra in an inscription from the time of Yaksha Malla at Bhaktapur Taumadhi Square .

Biska Jatra – Bhaktapur
Inscriptions from the reign of King Jitamitra and Bhupatindra Malla of Nepal in the royal palace of Bhaktapur, Sambat 808 and 818, mention the word Biskyat. ‘Based on these evidences, Bishwo Ketu is a Sanskrit word,’ he explains,’ in the Sankalap Puja of Biska Jatra, which is still going on in Taleju, it is referred to as Vishwajatra Mahaparva. In recent years, it has become Bisik, Bisk, Bisk, according to Newari nomenclature. It’s because of this that it’s turned into a biscuit. Biska Jatra is the name given to it in Newari.
The popular Biska Jatra folklore is false. He said that the Biska Jatra was only affiliated with God Bhairavnath and Goddess Bhadrakali, and that it was a popular snake-killer and Nagnagini mythology. This voyage is not just Vishwanath Bhairav‘s, but also his power Bhadrakali‘s, as well. The Halin-Pata symbolize Bhairav and Bhadrakali at jatra time.
