Sohra Shraddha Begins

In  the Krishna Paksha Day  of the month of Ashwin (Yanyaga month). This month is known as Pitrupaksha since it is the time to gratify the Ancestor. Sohra Shraddha is the common name for it. Although there are only 15 dates on one side, shraddha is done on 16 dates between Bhadra Shukla Purnima and Ashwin Aunsi (Jamare Aunsi), giving rise to the name Sohra Shraddha. Parvan Shraddha is another name for it. Shraddha is usually performed on the day of one’s Ancestor’s death. In addition, Shraddha should be performed before performing any good deed or feast. Shraddha is a Sanskrit word that meaning “to pay honor in the name of the Ancestor.”

It is thought that if the manes become enraged, a person will have a lot of issues in life.  Ancestor also confront financial and child-related issues as a result of their dissatisfaction. Astrologers look for Pitru Dosha in cases of child inferiority. During Pitru Paksh, such folks must conduct Shraddha.

As a result, every year, save on the date of death, do not eat shraddha that we do not consume, even before the feast of the fathers. Various legendary traditions emphasize the splendor of the Shraddha to be performed in Ashwin Krishna Paksha. Every year, Sohra Shraddha are done to usher in the new decade. Before celebrating  Dashain, Sohra Shraddha  are performed to pay tribute to the Ancestor. It is also believed that one should not perform Dewali (Devotional Worship) without first performing this Shraddha.
